ACTEWAGL Raiser $2,686

ActewAGL raises $2,686 thanks to Raiders supporters for the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group

Today, ActewAGL presented the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group with a cheque for $2,686 through the sale of clappers at the Canberra Raiders versus Bulldogs match on Sunday, 9th April 2006.

A bucket was also circulated through the crowd at half-time to raise money for the victims of Cyclone Larry collecting an additional $772.

ActewAGL Marketing and Communications Manager Paul Walshe said, “There was a fantastic amount of clapping at the game from the 2,000 plus clappers, which ActewAGL made available for purchase to raise funds for the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group.”

The support group assists families from the ACT and southern NSW who have a family member undergoing treatment for cancer-related illnesses.

Support group founder Yvonne Cuschieri said, “Raising funds to meet the needs of so many patients requiring our help while undergoing treatment for cancer has become a difficult task, which is growing with the increased number of adults being diagnosed with cancer.

" I would like to thank all those rugby league fans who donated to the support group for their generosity – it is very much appreciated.”
