2006 Canberra Show

Showbag launch

On Tuesday 14th February families from the  ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group, were invited to try and sample the show bags that will be on offer at the 2006 Canberra Show.

Over 45 children brought along their parents and had a great time working through the show bags on offer, to see what took their attention and what show bags they wanted to try and sample.

After a quick face paint the children had the opportunity to look over 200 showbags to work through and see what bags they would like to take home. With so many showbags on offer some children needed some assistance so on hand to help were players from the Canberra Raiders, Brumby Jack and Upsy Daisy the Show Cow.

Geoff Cannock CEO of the Canberra Show opened proceeding with a thank you to the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group, for attending  and the work they do with patients and families with Cancer and the support they provide people needing assistance.

Once Sarah, Chris and Mason from fm104.7 gave the OK to start collecting showbags the kids were off and running, with each child having the opportunity to get 3 bags each. The Cadbury bag was popular as well as the greatest showbag on earth was in high demand.

The children then spent time going through their bags and working through what they had got, sharing this experience with their parents.

Yvonne Cuschieri founder of the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group said it was good to see the children enjoying themselves and the group was appreciative of the opportunity that has been provided today by the Royal Canberra Show.

This is a busy week for the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group who has their Convoy for Cancer Families this Saturday.
